Airman Certification Standards
It’s time for your private pilot check ride. I’m sure you’re a bit apprehensive but there’s a lot you can do to make our visit more fun.The most obvious thing would be to review the Airman Certification Standards (ACS). We'll discuss scenarios and talk about the task listed in the Area of Operations (AOO).

XC Scenario
I’m your passenger on a cross-country flight to Lafayette Regional/Paul Fournet Field, Lafayette, Lousiana (KLFT) from your airport. Your flight planning should be based on the weather reports and forecasts available for check ride day. I suggest you consult the ACS with emphasis on the cross-country AOO. It will give you guidance related to cross-country portion of your test.

One more thing; here’s a web site that you might want to register with – faasafety.gov . I think you’ll agree it’s a wealth of aviation knowledge at your fingertips. There are some fantastic courses available to you free; like ADM, Runway Safety, and hundreds more. Not only that but your test is going to count as part of the WINGS program.

Lesson Plan
A lesson plan is a detailed step-by-step guide that outlines the Flight Instructor’s objectives. Creating a lesson plan involves setting goals, developing activities, and determining the materials that you will use to achieve the standards. Please preview the FOI Study Supplement by Steven Flesch. It will assist you in preparing for the ground portion of your test.
For our discussion purposes I’d like to request you prepare a lesson plan on STALLS. Assume I am a primary student and it’s time to introduce me to stalls.
